"MyHospital" Campaign Launches in Celebration of Madison Hospital's 10th Anniversary
Ten years ago, Madison residents had to drive to Huntsville for even the most routine health care. That all changed when Madison Hospital opened its doors on February 28, 2012. In the past decade, the hospital and its 700 health care heroes have ensured the Madison community has access to world-class, lifesaving care close to home.
Huntsville Hospital Foundation just launched the MyHospital campaign to celebrate this milestone and to raise money to fund future equipment and facility upgrades for Madison Hospital.
“It is hard to believe that a decade has passed since we had to travel to downtown Huntsville for a simple diagnostic screening, to welcome a new baby into the family, or to rush to the emergency room,” said Jim Bolte, Madison resident and Madison Hospital Board Member. “Madison Hospital is a massive benefit for our families, local economic development, and our quality of life. If we work together, we can ensure our hospital has the very best technology, resources, and facilities for us today, the next decade, and beyond.”
Looking at the anticipated growth and needs of the next decade, a priority for the hospital is to upgrade and equip the nursery to better treat babies who need a more intensive level of care. Not only will this renovation expand Madison Hospital’s capacity, it will also provide a more personal and comfortable experience for families with private bays for each baby.
“This renovation will help us better treat the increased needs of those Level II babies, meaning they can stay near their families here in Madison. What a fantastic gift to keep families together,” said Madison Hospital President Mary Lynne Wright. “Please join us in celebrating 10 years of Madison Hospital – your hospital. Why philanthropy matters for Madison Hospital
Since the hospital opened in February 2012, generous individuals and companies have donated more than $2 million to fund technology and programs that otherwise would not have been possible. Examples of high-impact purchases include:
- a state-of-the art imaging C-Arm machine that guides surgeons in real-time;
- 25 Nara cribs to promote mother-infant closeness;
- a high-tech MRI-compatible Anesthesia System that reduces anxiety for thousands of patients each year; and
- continual funding of the innovative Forget Me Not program, which trains employees to better communicate with and care for patients with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
