Boeing Helps Fund an Intracardiac Ultrasound for Huntsville Hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab
Providing an Intracardiac Ultrasound for Huntsville Hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab is one of Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s primary goals this year. This cutting-edge piece of equipment will allow Huntsville Hospital’s cardiologists to treat Patent Foramen Ovale, also known as a “hole in the heart,” in a minimally invasive way – without open heart surgery. That means fewer risks and shorter recovery time for our patients. Thank you to the Employees Community Fund of Boeing for their recent donation of $5,500 toward this important piece of equipment!

Colbert County High School Students selling balloons in honor and memory of those
affected by breast cancer. |
Members of the FCCLA at Colbert County High School and their fellow students dedicated an entire week to breast cancer awareness. Students sold ribbon-shaped cookies, pink bracelets, and t-shirts October 19-23 to raise donations for the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation. In addition, FCCLA members distributed breast cancer stickers, mints, and ribbons each morning to remind fellow students to support the ongoing fight against breast cancer. To end the weeklong awareness event, FCCLA students accepted donations and sold balloons at Colbert County High School’s Friday night football game. The balloons were released at halftime and names were announced for those being honored and remembered. We send a heartfelt thank you to all the FCCLA members and Colbert County High School students who made the weeklong event possible and memorable.
