The Ronald S. Owen Scholarship Fund

In 1997, former hospital administrator Ron Owen established a legacy of generosity at Huntsville Hospital. After 24 years of administrative leadership at Huntsville Hospital, Ron left an impressive parting gift by creating the Ronald S. Owen Scholarship Fund for the children of hospital employees.

During his years of service at Huntsville Hospital, Ron noticed a common challenge among hospital employees, who often struggled to finance their children's college education. Since Ron himself attended the University of Alabama on an academic scholarship, he knew firsthand the importance of financial assistance.

Ron established the scholarship fund to help deserving children of Huntsville Hospital employees to pursue a college education. The Hospital Auxiliary and the Lifesaver Club, along with many individuals, have also made generous gifts to enhance the fund for its future recipients.

The Ronald S. Owen Scholarship Fund is a symbol of Ron's desire to help others. It is also a lasting reminder of one who was admired and loved by his fellow workers here at Huntsville Hospital.
